“After all, when you’re on a budget and looking for some kinky outfits, look no further than Halloween – when everything under the sun has a sexy variant.”

    My Thoughts
This one was an emotional ride for me, especially when it came to Anne and Laura. You hide a lot of the flaws of a relationship when you’re in love. But at some point, there will be too many cracks for the Band-Aids to hold together – and it will all come crashing down. And Ally and Alan’s time together reminded me of the good times I had when I was younger, before I realized how things really were and who is actually my friend and who isn’t. So I guess what I’m saying is…the story hit hard this time around and I really loved it. And Sejic’s art is, as always, amazing to look at while you read through the book. I’m really glad I was able to find this and can’t wait for the next volume.

“You can’t ask immigrant Chinese demon mothers to be vulnerable more than once in their lives. The universe would end.”

    My Thoughts
We’ve reached the final book where we find out what happens after the apocalypse and being given a power you don’t understand and don’t know how to control. There’s a lot in this volume, and it’s really hard to talk about without going into too many spoilers. But I will say I loved every page of this volume. The art work is on point as always. The story is engaging and makes you feel for each character you meet. I loved the action scenes – though not as many in this volume – but when they did occur, stood out to tell their own story within a story And I couldn’t be happier with the ending. Something like this could just drop the ending and be “whelp, there you go – hope you like it!” But that didn’t happen and I was so happy to see it and read it at the end. You can see some lessons were learned and others will eventually be learned over time. But I’m so happy this dream team got together again to make something amazing!

“Basically, you’re such a problem for that king, he wants you dead. And the only person who can kill you…is you.”

    My Thoughts
There are very few books that make me laugh out loud when I’m reading them. There’s even fewer that make me laugh hard enough to have my stomach hurt and I have to stop reading for a minute to calm myself down. This is one of those few stories that makes my stomach hurt from laughing. The art and the story go so well together with this series, showing the artist and the author definitely understand each other when it comes to action shots and comedic timing. I love reading about Gert’s misadventures and how things keep going sideways for her. And with how this book ended, I’m really interested in seeing how things will turn out in the next volume. It was a cliffhanger that I have to see resolved, so I’m definitely looking forward to the next book!

“I cannot believe in a universe where Vic doesn’t claw her way out of hell itself to finish the mission. Can you?”

    My Thoughts
I felt like this one was a little hard to follow at points. I’m still enjoying the story and the artwork, but it was hard to follow the plan the Empress put into action. I did like the banter between the different pilots and the camaraderie of teamwork with our main characters. I’m hoping we get more of what’s going on in the next book.

“You can’t see the future when the past is standing in your way.”

    My Thoughts
The pacing in this book was all over the place. It felt like there were major events the author wanted to show, but had a hard time connecting them together so they flowed instead of quickly moving from one thing to the other. I did like some of the artwork, but the story just wasn’t great. I liked what it was trying to do, but it just felt off. I like Batgirl, but this one just wasn’t for me.

“What is life if not a bunch of great plans gone horribly sideways?”

    My Thoughts
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not usually a fan of DC Comics. I find a story or character I like and follow that through until the story ends (which hardly happens) or until I get to a good stopping point in the arc I’m reading.

For this story, I’m really glad I decided to continue reading this past volume 1. You get to see Poison Ivy being vulnerable again – maybe being more Pam Isley than Poison Ivy.

I love how the story shows her trying to do good with it sometimes working out and it sometimes going completely out of control. And the artwork that goes with it is beautiful! I love seeing the views of “The Green” and how the plants interact with the other characters – both good and bad.

I really enjoyed this arc. It was great to read and the artwork was wonderful. They story was good and the characters people I actually felt for.

Looking forward to the next volume.

“Them as can do has to do for them as can’t. And someone has to speak up for them as has no voices.”

    My Thoughts
I read this book for a fairy tales course I’m taking called “Hopelore” and this was our first book to read. I thoroughly enjoyed this, even though it took me forever to realize I needed to read the hard copy and not the ebook since I was overdone with screen time due to my WordPress class. But I love how Tiffany grows up quickly and is eager to take on the responsibility she sees before her. It gives me hope I can conquer my fears and listen to my own 2nd and 3rd voices in my head.

“Okay, so those weren’t some of my best lines and stabs, but, eh, why waste the good stuff on the already dead.”

    My Thoughts
Been waiting for this one since I backed the Kickstarter! We finally get to see many of Cinderella’s insane adventures…. misadventures?…in over 300 pages of violence and mayhem. She’s definitely one of my favorite Zenescope villains in their Grimm Fairy Tales series and I’m glad to have many of her adventures collected into one full volume.
