As usual, Junji Ito has figured out a way to freak me out and have me enjoy every minute of it. This story is about a professor who discovers a planet that has emerged from a wormhole and names it after his daughter – Remina – since the planet was born on the same day as his daughter. What we find out later is this planet will collide with Earther sooner than we know. And the reaction of the people that find this out…yeah Junio Ito knows how to write reality and make you not want to stop reading.

The artwork, the reactions of the public, the pacing of the story…everything comes together so well! And the ending was very satisfying – being both a great conclusion and giving you a feeling of loneliness and survivor syndrome at the same time. I highly recommend this to anyone that is a fan of Juni Ito and have this as an great addition to your horror collection.

The ending felt really flat after so much build up. I still enjoyed it, but the ending was just meh.
I might read the novel and see if there was something left out from the ending that wasn’t there in the manga, but I was really disappointed by the massive buildup that felt like it led to nothing.

A humorous and fast read, this book will give you the basics of what you need to do to become a successful “adult”. I’ll definitely be able to use some of this advice since I’m still trying to figure out what that means myself. lol

Not too much happening in this volume action-wise, but we did get a time jump and see how the 3 main girls are doing. I’m glad they’re still friends after school! I’m hoping we get some more action in the next volume. Knowing Naoki Urasawa, he’ll end up building us up to a big reveal in the next volume.

It’s amazing to believe all the things that actually happened in this book, but they all are true. Abbott Kahler has done it again with her new book – an enjoyable read that feels like fiction but is actually real events. The amount of research that went into this shows and is a book you will find a hard time putting down.

This wasn’t bad. I enjoyed reading about the adventures these kids got up to during their summer break. I also enjoyed how you don’t know if the spaceship they find is real or not. And no, I won’t tell you! 😄 It did seem like it was cut short at the end, but I’m hoping the second book will help with that.

    My Thoughts
I saw this series at my local comic book store on Free Comic Book Day. I’d never heard of it before and saw there were several volumes available on the $1 graphic novel table. In the process of looking up the series to see what people thought of it, another person saw I had most of the books and got excited. I asked if they’d read it and she replied yes – the compendiums she got at Great Valley Book Fair. She also definitely recommended it since it’s a futuristic story with zombies. All I needed to hear was zombies and I was hooked. Ended up finding all but the first volume there and ended up getting that on eBay.

I’m really glad I took a chance with this series. It’s a futuristic western with zombie-like creatures, insane cults, a lone wanderer, and a really good story so far. the author makes you feel for the characters and gives you just enough to hook you into wanting to read the next book.

Only thing I wasn’t sure about was the language they use. It’s definitely English, but has things like “stabbage” instead of “stabbing” for instance. The new language isn’t enough to detract from the story, but it may take some getting used to as you read through the volume.

But I really did enjoy this and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Which? You’re going to have to narrow it down, my love. I’ve long since long count.”

    My Thoughts
This book was fantastic! The story was great, believable, and well paced. The art is beautiful and makes you want to see if you find things in the background or not. You fall in love with the main characters and feel the happiness of their successes and the pains of their losses. I think the only thing I didn’t like was how little we see Wonder Woman in this story. Her name is in the title, and she does make an appearance, but I guess I was hoping for more of her in the story than what was given. It is a prequel, so that does explain why she’s not prominent in the story, but I guess I was just expecting more. I still highly recommend this – just don’t expect to see Wonder Woman in much at all.
