I saw this series at my local comic book store on Free Comic Book Day. I’d never heard of it before and saw there were several volumes available on the $1 graphic novel table. In the process of looking up the series to see what people thought of it, another person saw I had most of the books and got excited. I asked if they’d read it and she replied yes – the compendiums she got at Great Valley Book Fair. She also definitely recommended it since it’s a futuristic story with zombies. All I needed to hear was zombies and I was hooked. Ended up finding all but the first volume there and ended up getting that on eBay.
I’m really glad I took a chance with this series. It’s a futuristic western with zombie-like creatures, insane cults, a lone wanderer, and a really good story so far. the author makes you feel for the characters and gives you just enough to hook you into wanting to read the next book.
Only thing I wasn’t sure about was the language they use. It’s definitely English, but has things like “stabbage” instead of “stabbing” for instance. The new language isn’t enough to detract from the story, but it may take some getting used to as you read through the volume.
But I really did enjoy this and I’m looking forward to the next one.
